Danotherm CMQ resistor is a power resistor known for its high pulse load ratings. These UL-certified resistor components provide exceptional reliability.
The CMQ resistor features a modular design, allowing a maximum of four housings to be joined together to create larger units with increased nominal power ratings and enhanced pulse load capabilities. A single housing can be specified with a power rating ranging from 555 W to 4150 W. CMQ resistors can manage operating voltages of up to 1000 VAC or 1400 VDC.
The aluminum extruded housing is meticulously designed for specific applications. Thermal expansion feet enable the resistor to heat up without experiencing mechanical stress. Integrated slots facilitate the attachment of PT100 sensors, and an integrated thermal switch can be optionally added for overtemperature signaling. Furthermore, a thermal switch is available as an option.
Aluminum is chosen as the housing material due to its non-corrosive, non-magnetic, lightweight yet durable nature, and its excellent heat conductivity. These resistors are fully insulated and do not have any exposed live parts.
The overload capacity of CMQ resistors, determined by their length and resistance value, allows them to handle 40 to 100 times the nominal power rating. This overload capacity is applicable for a single 5-second pulse occurring once every 30 minutes.
For those with specific needs, customized and OEM versions of these resistors are available upon request.
