Danotherm HVBS resistors are medium voltage power resistors characterized by their high pulse load capability. They are part of the ALPHA product line, which incorporates ceramic-supported wirewound spirals within sealed aluminum housings. These resistors boast maximum working voltages of 3000 VAC / 4200 VDC and can withstand overloads ranging from 27 to 85 times the nominal power ratings. HVBS resistors have a rated dielectric strength of 7000 VAC for 1 minute.
HVBS resistors find their application in scenarios such as wind/gas turbines and supercapacitors, where infrequent pulse loads are encountered.
The power ratings for individual housings vary from 850 to 3500 W. You can connect multiple housings, up to four, to enhance the power rating and pulse load capability.
Danotherm HVBS resistors are cooled by convection. Aluminum, an exceptional heat conductor, is chosen as the housing material to facilitate heat dissipation. Aluminum possesses various desirable qualities, including being non-corrosive, non-magnetic, lightweight, durable, and an excellent heat conductor. These resistors are fully insulated and lack any external live components.
HVBS resistors support cable connections and are offered in IP50/IP54/IP65 rated versions.
Upon request, customized and OEM versions are also available.
