Digital Twin Module demonstration
At our booth, we will present our new Digital Twin Module, which seamlessly integrates with our ONIS platform and the Measurement Center. In this demonstration, we will showcase the Digital Twin of a measured PV park. This simulated PV park consists of multiple Digital Twins of individual inverters and a grid impedance model.

We will demonstrate how instability issues can arise when additional inverter strings are connected or during topology changes, all analyzed through simulation models generated from real measurements. To highlight the importance and impact of our Digital Twin approach, we will perform a live grid impedance measurement at the booth. Using our new Digital Twin Module, we will then automatically generate a Digital Twin of that measurement and integrate it into the PV park simulation in real time. This will allow us to showcase the direct impact of the new model within the simulation environment.
With this approach, we can demonstrate the entire process—from measurement to simulation and analysis—in a single, practical session.
Speaker contribution at the Power Electronics & Energy Storage event 2026
In a large industrial installation, a significantly increased failure rate of DC power supplies was observed during normal operation — despite redundancy, standard compliance, and no obvious pattern in where failures occurred. Simply replacing units reduced availability risks but did not address the underlying cause. In this presentation, Christoph Klie will show how shifting the focus from individual components to the electrical environment as a system revealed the real drivers behind these failures. By combining live, high-frequency measurements on an operating installation with targeted laboratory investigations, hidden interactions between earthing concepts, electrical noise, and transient events became visible for the first time. Christoph demonstrates how system-level electrical behaviour can silently degrade power electronics over time, and how impedance- and noise-based analysis enables failures to be detected, understood, and prevented before they impact operations.
“Understanding the unknown, by visualizing the unseen Unexpected power supply failures in complex electrical systems ”
Moreover, Christoph explores how assessing power quality contributes significantly to optimizing and stabilizing grids, thereby bolstering overall grid performance and resilience. His insights highlight the intersection of measurement technologies with advanced simulation tools, fostering greater efficiency and reliability in electrical grid operations.
